Rally against price hike, joblessness

The members of Sindh Agriculture General Workers Union took out a large rally on Thursday against unprecedented price hike, joblessness in the name of change and encroachment of government lands.

The protesters marched through various roads and then staged a sit-in outside a local press club where they also held a protest demonstration while holding red flags in their hands and shouted slogans against the rulers. Qasim Lashari, Ghulam Sarwar Phulpoto, Hanif Bhatti, Shahnawaz Shaikh and others said Prime Minister Imran Khan showed us golden dreams of change but now he has ruined the poor masses. They said they belong to the labour class and this class was the worst affected by the record price hike. They said that daily wages are so low that they cannot feed their children two meals a day, not to speak of getting their kids educated.

They said prices of petrol, electricity, gas, medicines, ghee, sugar, flour, rice, medicines and other eatables have sky-rocketed during the past two years which we never saw before. They said government lands are being encroached openly by habitual land grabbers mafia and the poverty-ridden farmers have been deprived of these lands for tilling.
