Ranbir or Ranveer: Who will play Ballu in Khalnayak 2?

Following the announcement of a sequel to the iconic movie Khalnayak, director Subhash Ghai is reportedly contemplating casting either Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh for the character of Ballu Balaram, originally portrayed by Sanjay Dutt in the 1993 film.

While Khalnayak is remembered fondly for Dutt’s portrayal of the villainous Ballu, the film also boasted unforgettable songs like “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai” and “Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main,” which continue to resonate with audiences.

After the announcement of the sequel, reports indicated that Ghai was considering fresh faces for the role of Ballu, with Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh being among the top contenders.

Ghai confirmed that the script for Khalnayak 2 has been finalized, and he is now searching for a young actor to take on the iconic role.

Additionally, Ghai is exploring the possibility of casting a South Indian actor for the role and is reportedly considering Allu Arjun and Yash.

Ranbir Kapoor’s recent film, “Animal,” garnered significant attention and box office success, grossing over INR 835 crores worldwide within 17 days of its release.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is set to portray the new Don in “Don 3,” as announced by the makers in a teaser released in August last year.

The film is scheduled for release in 2025, with production slated to commence in January of the same year.
