Rape statement: Nabil Gabol served notice by PPP leadership

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Nabil Gabol on Tuesday received a show-cause notice from the party for using inappropriate language, asking him to explain.

Gabol received a notification from PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro demanding an explanation for his usage of such language within three days or face disciplinary action.

“He will face disciplinary punishment from the party if he doesn’t comply,” the spokesman PPP said.

The spokesperson for the party also emphasized that such comments and extra-parliamentary terminology had no place in the party’s policies.

According to the PPP spokesperson, vulgar language and non-parliamentary phrases have no place in the party’s platform.

The PPP’s prompt response to Gabol’s comments demonstrates a resolute position against the use of offensive language by its members as the party works to uphold its standing as a progressive and welcoming political force.

Earlier, Nabeel appeared on Shehzad Ghais Shaikh’s “The Pakistan Experience” Podcast when the host asked him about his stance on operations against politicians he remarked, “When r*pe is imminent, just enjoy it.”

Following these remarks, Nabeel Gabol was blasted on social media by users who called him out for making such offensive remarks.

PPP co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari’s daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari shared her stance on Twitter about Nabeel Gabol’s comments saying that the statement did not represent the party adding that Misogyny has no space in our religion or our party.
