South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna is poised to make her Bollywood debut alongside superstar Salman Khan in the upcoming film Sikandar. The announcement, made by the movie’s makers on social media platforms today, May 9th, marks Mandanna’s first collaboration with Khan.
Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, Mandanna shared the announcement post and expressed her excitement, stating, “Surprise!! I am truly grateful and honored to be a part of #Sikandar.”
Directed by AR Murugadoss, renowned for films like Ghajini and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Sikandar is set to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film, featuring Salman Khan in the titular role, is scheduled for release on EID 2025.
Khan had previously teased the project on social media, announcing himself as “Salman Khan in and as Sikandar” on the occasion of Eid in April. The filming of Sikandar is rumored to commence in May, spanning across locations in India and Europe, with acclaimed music composer Pritam on board for the film’s score.
The collaboration between Khan and Nadiadwala, known for hits like Kick, Judwaa, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, marks a reunion of two powerhouse talents in Bollywood. Nadiadwala will produce Sikandar under his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
On her recent work, Mandanna’s last appearance was in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, where she portrayed the character Geetanjali, opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Released on December 1, 2023, the film proved to be a commercial success at the box office.
