Remarkable incident: 76-year-old woman declared dead, comes alive at her own funeral

A 76-year-old woman who was declared dead at a hospital in Ecuador astonished her relatives by knocking on her coffin during her wake, and the incident has prompted a government investigation into the hospital.

According to reports from international media, a 76-year-old woman named Bella Montoya was mistakenly declared dead by a local government hospital in Ecuador. The hospital issued a death certificate, and preparations for her final rites were underway.
May God protect the one who is under His care.

Gilbert Balbin, a resident of Babaoyo, Ecuador, and a relative of Bella Montoya informed the media that his mother had been admitted to the hospital due to a suspected stroke. However, her breathing had stopped, and she was subsequently provided medical assistance through machines. Despite efforts, she remained unresponsive, leading doctors to declare her deceased on Sunday.

Gilbert Balbin revealed that two days after his mother’s supposed death, when all the arrangements for the funeral had been completed and she had been placed in a coffin, sounds were heard coming from inside the casket.

He further stated that Bella Montoya was striking the inside of the coffin with her left hand.

The woman has now been transferred back to the same government hospital, where her death has been confirmed. The medical staff is astounded and perplexed by the situation as they continue to monitor her condition, which has significantly improved. She is currently in the ICU and receiving oxygen.

The Ministry of Health in Ecuador has formed a committee to investigate the matter thoroughly, examining both the care and oversight provided to Bella Montoya and the handling of the case.
