Rohit Sharma expresses interest in India-Pakistan Test series

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has expressed his enthusiasm for a Test series between India and Pakistan.

During a podcast with former England skipper Michael Vaughan on Club Prairie Fire, Sharma highlighted the excitement surrounding Test matches between the two nations, recognizing Pakistan’s strong bowling lineup and formidable team.

When asked by Vaughan if playing Pakistan regularly would benefit Test cricket, Sharma replied, “I firmly think that! They work well together.”

He emphasized Pakistan’s superb bowling lineup and expressed interest in a competitive series, especially in overseas conditions.

Vaughan then asked if Sharma would like to see a regular series with Pakistan, to which Sharma replied positively, stating his interest in pure cricket and the excitement of a battle between bat and ball.

The highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 match between Pakistan and India is scheduled for June 9 at Eisenhower Park in New York.

The last Test match between Pakistan and India occurred in 2007.

Sharma’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions and speculations about the resumption of bilateral cricketing ties between the two nations, with fans eagerly anticipating thrilling encounters between these traditional rivals on the cricket field.
