Salman Khan firing case: Police retrieve guns from river

Indian police recovered two guns, allegedly used in the shooting incident at the Mumbai residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan, from the Tapi river in Gujarat.

Local authorities retrieved two pistols, three magazines, and 13 cartridges as part of the ongoing investigation, as reported by an Indian media outlet.

Earlier, police apprehended two suspects, identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, who were accused of firing five rounds at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment residence on April 14.

According to police sources, the suspects were associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol.

The Mumbai Crime Branch disclosed that the attackers deliberately left behind various clues and evidence, aiding investigators in their pursuit.

They abandoned the motorcycle used in the shooting near Mount Mary Church, located just a kilometer away from Salman Khan’s residence, instead of concealing it carefully.

An officer from the Mumbai Crime Branch suggested that the intention of the Bishnoi gang was to issue a warning to the Bollywood star rather than causing him harm.

Additionally, the gang purportedly wanted Gupta and Pal to be apprehended to assert responsibility for the shooting on behalf of their gang, instilling fear among the public.

Further investigation revealed that this was the second visit of the shooters to Mumbai.

They initially arrived in February, returned to their hometown to celebrate Holi on March 24, and came back to Mumbai on April 1.

On April 15, Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the gunfire incident outside Salman Khan’s residence.

In a social media post, Anmol Bishnoi warned Salman Khan not to underestimate their strength, indicating that the shooting was merely a prelude to demonstrate their power.
