Saudi Arabia bans citizens from traveling to two African countries

Saudi Arabia has banned its citizens from traveling to two epidemic-hit African states Guinea and Tanzania.

According to Arab media, Saudi authorities stopped their citizens from traveling to both countries due to the Marburg virus epidemic in the African country Guinea and Tanzania.

In the instructions issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health, it had been said that citizens should not travel to these two countries until the disease is controlled, while Saudi citizens already in these two countries had been instructed to follow the safety guidelines issued by the local authorities.

On the other hand, Oman also immediately stopped its citizens from traveling to these two African countries.

According to media reports, the death toll from the Marburg virus had risen to nine in Guinea so far, which is expected to increase further, while last week Tanzania confirmed five deaths from the Marburg virus.

The symptoms of the Marburg virus include high fever, bleeding, and organ failure, while the virus is similar to the ebola virus that originated in Africa.
