Saudi crown prince likely to visit Pakistan this month

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud is expected to visit Pakistan sometime this May, as reported by diplomatic sources. This visit marks his first trip to Pakistan in five years, with his last visit being in February 2019. The Crown Prince will be accompanied by a delegation.

During this upcoming visit, it’s anticipated that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) regarding a $5 billion investment will be signed. Final arrangements for the Crown Prince’s visit are still being determined.

This visit will mark the third face-to-face meeting between Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman within a span of five weeks.

In parallel, a significant trade delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Deputy Minister for Investment Ibrahim al-Mubarak, is currently in Pakistan. They aim to explore investment prospects across various sectors and strengthen ties with local entrepreneurs. The Saudi delegation comprises around 50 members, representing about 35 companies from diverse economic fields.

Pakistani officials are optimistic about securing investment commitments ranging from 10 to 15 billion US dollars during the Saudi delegation’s stay. This includes heads of companies engaged in agriculture, telecommunications, construction, and other sectors.
