Saudi-Syria agree to work on bilateral relations

After Iran, Saudi Arabia’s relations with Syria also began to pave the way.

Gulf reports said that Saudi Arabia and Syria agreed to reopen embassies as part of the resumption of bilateral relations. Saudi Arabia and Syria had snapped ties for more than a decade.

Gulf regional and diplomatic news agencies said that Saudi Arabia and Syria were preparing to reopen their embassies after Eid al-Fitar.

The reports also said that the decision to open the embassy was taken in talks with a senior Syrian intelligence official in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi and Syrian officials have not yet commented on the news.

Most Arab states severed ties with Syria since the 2011 civil war.

Recently, significant developments in Middle East politics came after Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to restore diplomatic relations.
