SC urged to enforce national action plan 2014

A appeal has been lodged in the Supreme Court (SC) seeking the enforcement of the National Action Plan 2014. The appeal involves various stakeholders, including the federal and provincial governments, the Interior Ministry, and others, who have been named as parties in the plea. Represented by advocate Hafiz Ahsan Khokhar, the plea was submitted on behalf of Nawab Zada Jamal Raisani, Chief of the Martyrs Forum from Balochistan.

The appeal states the urgent need for the immediate implementation of police reforms and prompt decisions on all pending terrorism cases in the courts. Furthermore, it calls for the provision of security to witnesses in accordance with international standards by both federal and provincial authorities, with a mandate for the prosecution to ensure such measures are enforced.

Additionally, the plea requests security assurances for the families of martyrs and advocates for the provision of free education for their children. The appeal
acknowledge the necessity of proactive measures to counteract terrorism and its detrimental effects on society.
