Scientists and engineers receive ‘Civil Awards’ for meritorious service

In a ceremony held at Chaklala Garrison Rawalpindi, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza bestowed civil awards upon 35 esteemed scientists and engineers for their exceptional contributions.

Representing the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, General Mirza recognized the invaluable services rendered by these individuals from strategic institutions.

The awards, presented on behalf of President Zardari, symbolize the nation’s gratitude towards the scientists and engineers for their remarkable dedication and achievements.

Among the recipients, seven were honored with the Star of Distinction, fifteen received the Presidential Award for Excellence, and thirteen were bestowed with the Medal of Distinction, each recognition acknowledging their significant contributions to national advancement.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza expressed profound appreciation for the exemplary efforts of the scientists and engineers, hailing them as the unsung heroes of the nation.

In his address, he lauded their selfless commitment to fortifying the nation’s foundations, emphasizing the indelible mark they have left on Pakistan’s progress and development.

Addressing the honorees directly, General Mirza underscored the nation’s perpetual indebtedness to their unwavering dedication and selflessness. He acknowledged their pivotal role in bolstering Pakistan’s strategic capabilities and extended heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the government and the people.
