Security forces eliminate terrorist in Mir Ali, says ISPR

Terrorist was involved in activities against security forces and killing of JUI-F leader

A terrorist involved in the killing of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazlur Rehman’s (JUI-F) leader has been gunned down by security forces in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.

According to the press release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this was an intelligence-based operation. It also stated that there was an intense exchange of fire between the troops and terrorists.

The terrorist was killed and ammunition and weapons were recovered from the site, the statement said. It further added that the killed terrorist was actively involved in terrorist activities against the security forces and was also involved in the killings of innocent citizens.

According to the statement of the military’s media wing, the killed terrorist was involved in the killing of JUI-F’s Qari Sami in North Waziristan last month.

“Locals of Mir Ali area have appreciated the operation of security forces and expressed their full support in order to get rid of the menace of terrorism from the area,” added the statement.

In July JUI-F’s Qari Sami and Hafiz Nauman were shot and the attackers had ambushed their motorbike in the Eidak area of tehsil Mir Ali.
