Shazia refused entry to cabinet meeting

A security staffer barred Federal Minister Shazia Marri from attending the federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Federal Minister for Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Shazia Marri had refused to hand over her handbag and other belongings to the security staff. A video has also surfaced which showed Marri and the security staff having a conversation. However, the security officials did not open door for her after she refused to hand over her bag. While leaving the premises, Shazia Marri told the security staff to inform the Prime Minister about her arrival. She asked the staff to inform the premier that she was not allowed to attend the meeting. In the cabinet meeting today, the federal cabinet approved the draft law to curtail suo motu powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP). The federal cabinet’s session was held under the chair of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today. The cabinet members approved the draft law related to the judicial reforms. The draft bill will be presented to the National Assembly (NA) for its approval today.
