Sindh govt to publish names of tax evaders in newspapers

The Sindh government has made a significant decision to publicly disclose the names of individuals who evade taxes, aiming to enhance transparency and accountability in financial matters.

In a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, key officials from the Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department were present, including Secretary Saleem Rajpoot, Director General Aurangzeb Ponor, and other relevant officers.

During the session, Sharjeel Inam said that tax evasion poses a threat to the nation’s prosperity and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He announced plans to implement measures to freeze the bank accounts of those found guilty of tax evasion.

Furthermore, he commended the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the province and urged for swift action against tax evaders.

Sharjeel Inam reiterated the commitment of the concerned departments to collaborate continuously and assured that there would be zero tolerance for tax evasion, with strict enforcement of policies.
