Shehbaz calls on COAS, DG ISI to disclose ‘evidence’ of opposition’s ‘treason’

Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says Imran Khan blatantly violated constitution

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has called on the chief of army staff and director general of Inter-Services Intelligence to disclose “any evidence” regarding the alleged “treason” carried out by the opposition leaders.

Talking to media outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Tuesday, Shehbaz Sharif asked both military officers to disclose “minutes” of the meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) during which the “conspiracy letter” was discussed. He said the government’s stance regarding the National Security Committee meeting was incorrect.

Separately, PML-N senior leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said that Imran Khan had blatantly violated constitution and that the president was also part of the conspiracy.

Talking to media outside the Islamabad Accountability Court, Shahid Khaqan said that masses were looking towards the Supreme Court to see if the court would uphold the constitution.

Previously, dictators ruled the country after abolishing the constitution, he stated. However, people who claim themselves to be elected had not blatantly violated the constitution of the country, he added.

Abbasi further said that the corruption committed by Imran Khan and his government was being exposed. He added that irregularities of an unimaginable scale were reported in Punjab.
