Shehbaz Sharif slams authorities after Moussavi apology to Nawaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif slammed authorities on Tuesday for keeping the leader of PML-N, Nawaz Sharif, away from the public through a politically motivated witch hunt.

The statement came after assets recovery firm Broadsheet’s Chief Executive Officer Kaveh Moussavi issued an apology to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for partaking in a “witch hunt” against him along with withdrawing corruption allegations against him.

In an interview with a local news outlet, the Broadsheet CEO said he was apologizing to Nawaz Sharif to make things clear, adding that he did not find an ‘iota of evidence’ and ‘not one rupee’ of corruption during Broadsheet’s forensic investigation.

Following the report, Shehbaz Sharif, while taking to Twitter, said that the CEO of Broadsheet had exposed the politically inspired witch hunt against Nawaz and his family in the name of so-called accountability.

While explaining the reason for all of this, he said that this was just to keep Nawaz away from the public and now all this character assassination stood demolished.

Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Maryam Nawaz also tweeted about this and said that Nawaz Sharif had been rewarded by God and Moussavi’s apology was a charge-sheet against Imran Khan.

She also said that Khan was not even able to prove corruption of Rs65 against Nawaz Sharif although he spent 65 million pounds for that matter.
