Sheikh Rasheed asks for elections after Ramazan

Interior minister says next two to three days very important, criticizes people who have left PM Khan

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Friday has asked for early elections after Ramazan, saying that the country needed transparent elections at the moment.

The interior minister was addressing a ceremony in Rawalpindi where he said that he also wanted to retire from politics now but he had decided to not leave Imran Khan during his difficult time.

He also said that the next two to three days were very important and criticized the people who had left PM Khan in this critical time. The interior minister added that people who had left the party could not face the local people now. Whenever they would go in their constituencies to ask for votes, people would reject them, Rasheed said.

He went on to say that the government was very confident and was prepared for the vote on the no-confidence motion.

Voting on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will be held on Sunday, April 3.
