Shooters were paid to threaten Salman, not kill him: Mumbai Crime Branch

Reports from Indian media indicate that two individuals in their twenties have been apprehended in relation to the shooting incident outside the residence of Bollywood star Salman Khan.

Vicky Gupta, aged 24, and Sagar Pal, aged 21, were detained four days after the occurrence.

They allegedly received a payment of INR 100,000 upfront and an offer of INR 400,000 to execute the shooting, with the aim of instilling “terror” rather than causing harm.

Statements from both families have been recorded, and further individuals from various states are being questioned by the Mumbai Crime Branch.

The suspects had been monitoring Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse for days leading up to the incident.

The investigation revealed that a pistol had been delivered to their rented residence a month before the shooting.

Vicky drove the motorcycle while Sagar reportedly fired the shots.

Sagar had undergone training in Bihar prior to the incident.

Additionally, Vicky’s younger brother, Sonu, aged 19, has also been detained.

Although there was speculation involving Amnal Bishoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence, no accusations have been made against him.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met with Salman Khan and pledged to eradicate the Bishnoi gang, stating that there is no place for underworld activities in Mumbai or Maharashtra.
