Six terrorists killed during South Waziristan IBO, says ISPR

ISPR on Wednesday said that six terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Kot Azam region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district.

In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), it mentioned that during the operation on May 23, there was a fierce gunfight between security forces and militants.

“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and targeted killing of innocent citizens,” it said.

“Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism,” the statement added.

The ISPR added that the area was being cleaned in order to get rid of any other terrorists that might have been hiding there.
