National Assembly speaker revokes assembly membership of Jamshed Dasti, Iqbal Khan

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Friday revoked the National Assembly membership of PTI Leaders Jamshed Dasti and Mohammad Iqbal Khan for their unbecoming conduct during the joint session of Parliament on Thursday.

The action has been taken due to a violation of rule 30 of the rules of procedure of conduct National Assembly and deliberate disregard of the authority of the speaker National assembly.

The speaker put forth the development in front of house the lower house which was agreed upon by the ruling party members and later accepted. The opposition members tore down the copies of the agenda in protests after this as a protest.

Earlier yesterday, opposition lawmakers, led by the PTI, protested alleged election rigging, and inflation, and advocated for constitutional supremacy, causing disruption during president Zadari’s speech.

The president convened the joint session of parliament under the authority granted by Article 54(1) and 56(3) of the Constitution.
