Taliban allows girls to continue education till class 5

The Afghan interim Taliban government has allowed girls to continue their education until grade fifth.

According to Afghan media, in a statement issued by the Afghan Ministry of Education, girls had been allowed to continue education until the fifth grade.

The Afghan Ministry of Education instructed schools, madrassas, and educational centres in Afghanistan to open schools and educational centres for girls up to the fifth grade.

Earlier Last month, Taliban authorities banned girls’ higher education after which girls’ primary schools were also closed in many provinces.

Taliban also put a ban on women working in NGOs throughout Afghanistan. These steps of the Taliban received a lot of criticism worldwide.

Many western and non-western states had strongly condemned this step and called for immediate reversal of the decision.
