TASS reports: Ukraine’s President Zelensky added to Russia’s wanted list

According to a report from the state news agency TASS on Saturday, the Interior Ministry of Russia has initiated a criminal case against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This action has led to Zelensky being placed on a wanted list. Unfortunately, the report did not provide any further details regarding the specifics of the case.

This development is not isolated, as Russia has previously issued arrest warrants for several Ukrainian and European politicians since the conflict with Ukraine began in February 2022. In one instance, Russian authorities placed Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Lithuania’s culture minister, and members of the previous Latvian parliament on a wanted list. The charges against them revolved around the destruction of Soviet-era monuments.

Furthermore, Russia has gone so far as to issue an arrest warrant for the prosecutor from the International Criminal Court (ICC) who, last year, prepared a warrant for President Vladimir Putin on charges of war crimes. This demonstrates a pattern of legal actions taken by Russia against individuals deemed as adversaries or those who have acted against Russian interests.
