Taylor Swift’s ‘Cruel Summer’ sets another milestone

In a week, Taylor Swift will drop her highly anticipated album “The Tortured Poets Department.”

As fans eagerly await her latest release, one of her recent hits, “Cruel Summer,” achieves a significant milestone by becoming one of her longest-charting songs on the Hot 100.

The electro-pop track has now spent 48 weeks on the chart, tying with “Teardrops on My Guitar,” which peaked at No. 13 in 2008.

Swift’s longest-running Hot 100 hit remains “Anti-Hero,” which stayed on the chart for 53 weeks.

“Shake It Off” and “You Belong With Me” both spent 50 weeks on the chart, making them her second-longest-charting titles.

“Love Story” follows closely behind with 49 weeks on the Hot 100.

Despite being on the chart for so long, “Cruel Summer” continues to climb, moving from No. 16 to No. 14 this week, a remarkable feat given the influx of new releases.
