TEXPO 2023: Celebrating Pakistan’s Textile Industry

The 4th International Textile and Leather Exhibition, TEXPO, will take place from May 26th to 28th at the Expo Centre Karachi. The theme for TEXPO 2023 is ‘Weaving the Way to Sustainability’. The TEXPO aims to pay tribute to Pakistan’s textile and leather industries in the face of climate change impact.

To announce the exhibition, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has organized an event at Coconut Grove in Karachi. The event was attended by renowned figures from the fashion, leather, and textile industry of Pakistan including Chief Executive TDAP Zubair Motiwala, and Secretary Fareed Iqbal Qureshi serving the occasion as esteemed chief guests. The event celebrates the remarkable journey of the Pakistani textile industry.

TEXPO 2023 will feature 200 plus exhibitors from Pakistan including leading designers, and over 350 industry specialists from various parts of the globe. The event will provide a platform to showcase Pakistan’s textile and leather industry’s offerings ranging from leather garments, footwear, cotton, readymade garments, home textiles, denim, knitwear, sportswear, and many more.

TEXPO 2023 has attracted buyers from many countries like Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, China, Japan, Columbia, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, and 77 non-traditional markets.
During the event, Mr. Zubair Motiwala, the Chief Executive of TDAP, extended a warm welcome to all the foreign delegates attending TEXPO 2023. He emphasized that Pakistan provides a valuable opportunity for delegates to diversify their supply chains.

He highlighted that TEXPO 2023 is set to be a significant event, bringing together the entire spectrum of Pakistan’s textile industry under one roof.

‘‘It is a flagship event for our country, and we wholeheartedly thank all the foreign delegates for registering and visiting”, stated Mr. Zubair Motiwala.

In light of TEXPO 2023’s theme, a two-day fashion show will be held on May 26th and 27th. The fashion show will highlight
Ready-to-Wear, Resort Wear, and Luxury Pret, with a focus on sustainable fashion practices.

The event will showcase collections exclusively curated by renowned Pakistani designers and design houses, including Rizwan Beyg, Sana Safinaz, Deepak Perwani, Adnan Pardesy, Wardha Saleem, Huma Adnan, Shamaeel Ansari, Salt by Ideas, Pink Tree, J., Jafferjees, to name a few.

The fashion show will feature Pakistan’s top male and female models who will grace the runway with their presence. Foreign buyers and stakeholders of the fashion world, and fashion media will also be attended the event.

To add a touch of cultural vibrancy, a cultural show will be held on May 26th at the Governor House in Karachi, featuring performances by renowned Pakistani artists.

Overall, TEXPO will offer a platform to showcase talent, celebrate Pakistan’s textile industry, promote sustainable fashion and enjoy cultural diversity.
