Ton-up Hayley Matthews powers West Indies Women to 269-8 against Pakistan Women

Captain Hayley Matthews played an unbeaten and cautious innings of 140 runs off 150 balls, guiding the West Indies Women to a total of 269-8 against Pakistan Women in the first ODI in Karachi on Thursday.

Choosing to bat first, the visitors suffered an early setback, losing their first wicket for just 1 run, with Rashada Williams dismissed by Sadia Iqbal after scoring just 1 run off 7 balls.

However, a solid partnership between Hayley Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle bolstered the West Indian innings.

Hayley struck 15 boundaries and one six in her outstanding innings.

Shemaine contributed with a 45-run knock off 71 balls, including four boundaries, before being dismissed by Tuba Hassan.

Sadia Iqbal (2-38) and Tuba Hassan (2-48) claimed two wickets each for the Pakistan women’s team.
