Two women drown fetching water from pond

Two Thari women lost their lives in their search for water in the Parkar region on Tuesday.

Reports from village Adhigam said that their women had went to fetch water from a pond where they drowned. Two women, including Kesori who was also pregnant, and Thani, drowned. The area people rushed to scene and retrieved the body of two women and shifted other 18-year-old Tari to taluka hospital in the hilly town of Nagarparkar.  Tari was said to be in very critical condition. The relatives of the victims talking to the media persons deplored that three women went to fetch water from a rain-fed pond where they fell and were drowned.  They said that they were forced to travel miles to fetch water from deep wells and ponds after all other waterworks including costly RO plants ceased to function in the desert district.

The people from different walks of life expressing their grief and anger deplored that many people mostly women lost their lives in their search for water but the concerned functionaries were least bothered to put the faulty RO plants in operation. They demanded the probe into misapplication of binge funds released by Sindh government for putting the faulty RO plants in operation.
