Uxi Mufti urges police to take action to protect valuable manuscripts, family legacy

Uxi Mufti, son of the late renowned scholar Mumtaz Mufti, is appealing to the authorities to take immediate action to protect his family’s valuable library and archives, housed in a property in Village Samli Bera Mal, Murree.

On Friday, a group of armed individuals raided the property, breaking locks, stealing valuables, and threatening the chaukidar (caretaker). Despite a formal complaint, the Murree police have failed to take adequate action, prompting Uxi Mufti to seek intervention from the SP Operations.

The property, which has been in Uxi Mufti’s family for 16 years, is not only a valuable asset but also a cultural treasure trove, housing the archives, manuscripts, and library of the late Mumtaz Mufti. The family’s legacy and scholarly contributions are at risk of being lost forever if the police do not take swift action to secure the property and apprehend the criminals.

Uxi Mufti is urging the authorities to take immediate action to:

– Arrest the armed criminals who have occupied the property

– Recover the stolen valuables

– Ensure the safety and security of the property and its contents

The family’s appeal has been met with inaction, and the criminals have threatened to break into the property again today at 5 pm. Uxi Mufti is left wondering what a law-abiding citizen like himself can do when the police fail to protect his family’s legacy and property.

The late Mumtaz Mufti was a respected scholar and intellectual, and his contributions to Pakistani literature and culture are still celebrated today. His family’s archives and manuscripts are a valuable part of Pakistan’s cultural heritage, and it is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure their protection.
