West Indies Women take first win in ODI series against Pakistan Women

Hayley Matthews led West Indies Women to a dominant victory, defeating Pakistan Women by 113 runs in the first ODI in Karachi.

In Pakistan’s innings, they were all out for 156 in the 36th over, with only Tuba Hassan, Muneeba Ali, and Najiha Alvi providing resistance with the bat.

West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews, after a strong batting display, also excelled in bowling, taking three wickets and earning the player of the match award.

Afy Fletcher and Zaida James contributed with two wickets each, while Shamilia Connell and Chinelle Henry claimed one wicket each.

In their innings, West Indies posted 269-8, powered by captain Hayley Matthews’ unbeaten 140 runs off 150 balls.

Despite an early wicket, an impressive partnership between Matthews and Shemaine Campbelle bolstered the West Indian innings.

Matthews’ innings featured 15 boundaries and one six, while Campbelle scored a solid 45 runs off 71 balls.

Sadia Iqbal and Tuba Hassan took two wickets each for Pakistan, while Nida Dar and Nashra Sandhu grabbed one wicket each.
