Will the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) or the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) vote for independent candidate Faisal Vawda in the Senate election? A decision has not been made yet by both parties.
According to sources, parliamentary parties are hesitant regarding Faisal Vawda, an independent candidate for the Senate general seat from Sindh. There is a difference of opinion within the MQM on the issue of voting for Faisal Vawda, while the PPP is also not inclined to vote for him as an independent.
The PPP has announced six candidates for the seven general seats of the Sindh Senate. The PPP ais in a position to win five general seats in the Sindh Assembly.
Potential candidates for general seats from the MQM include Shehbaz Zaheer, Amir Chishti, and Najeeb Haroon. However, sources suggest that the PPP is also not in favor of voting for Faisal Vawda as an independent. Faisal Vawda has been advised to join the party if he wishes to contest the Senate elections.
