Women should be independent, only to an extent: Nora Fatehi says feminism messes up society

Nora Fatehi, the Canadian actor and dancer gaining prominence in Bollywood, has criticized feminism for what she perceives as its negative impact on society.

In a recent interview on The Ranveer Show, Fatehi didn’t mince words, stating, “This idea of ‘I don’t need anybody.’ Feminism. I don’t believe in this s**. In fact, I think, feminism f** up our society completely.”

Despite her privileged position, Fatehi advocates for traditional gender roles in subcontinental society, emphasizing the importance of men as providers and women as nurturers.

She believes that while women should pursue their ambitions, they should also prioritize their household responsibilities.

Fatehi argues that men should embrace their roles as providers and protectors to maintain meaningful relationships with women. She suggests that men today are neglecting these responsibilities due to the influence of feminism.

According to Fatehi, society functions best when men and women adhere to traditional roles. She believes that each gender brings different contributions to the table, with men providing material support and women taking on nurturing roles.

Born and raised in Canada to Moroccan parents, Fatehi entered Bollywood in 2014 with the film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans. She has gained recognition for her dance performances in various films and has also served as a judge on the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
