‘Would bear expenses for Nawaz’s air ticket’: Sheikh Rashid responds to rumours of PML-N supremo’s return

Interior minister says Sharif and Zardari families were corrupt, PM Imran’s struggle against them will continue

Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid stated on Sunday that if Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif desired to return to Pakistan, he would issue a visa to him in 24 hours and would also bear the expenses of his ticket.

The interior minister made these remarks after rumours started circulating that the PML-N supreme leader would be returning to Pakistan before the next general elections.

The rumours rose following reports that Nawaz’s visa extension appeal had been rejected by the British Home Office.

The interior minister, who was addressing media personnel in Karachi, said that the PML-N leader had never paid a visit to a doctor after going to England.

He further stated that the Sharif and Zardari families were corrupt and that Imran Khan would continue his struggle against corruption.

In response to a question about Altaf Hussain, Sheikh Rashid said that the government could not talk to him as there were too many murder cases against him.

Furthermore, the interior minister emphasises that even though the opposition was adamant to overthrow the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government, Imran Khan would be staying, and the government had good relations with the establishment.
