Zelensky signs decree refusing talks with Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on Tuesday, officially announcing that any talks between Ukraine and Vladimir Putin are “impossible”, adding however that doors were open for negotiations with Russia.

According to a report in Reuters, following the annexation of Ukraine’s region, Zelensky stated on Friday, “He (Putin) does not know what dignity and honesty are. Therefore, we are ready for a dialogue with Russia, but with another president of Russia.”

Kyiv’s recent move came after the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (Russian Parliament), ratified agreements on annexing Ukraine’s Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The global community has denounced the referendums, with European nations and the United States calling them a “sham” and emphasizing that they would not be acknowledged.
