Finance Minister Aurangzeb urges accelerated reforms and digitalization for FBR efficiency

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, led discussions on the revenue collection performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters.

Accompanied by FBR Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and other Board Members, Minister Aurangzeb lauded the FBR team for their dedication in meeting targets. Emphasizing the need for swift reforms and digitalization within the FBR, the minister aimed to enhance performance and boost revenue generation.

He stressed the importance of transparency in the tax collection system and called for the development of a mechanism to ensure it. Offering his unwavering support, Minister Aurangzeb urged increased efforts to unlock the true tax potential.

FBR Chairman Tiwana warmly welcomed the minister and provided a comprehensive overview of revenue collection efforts, initiatives taken for revenue generation, and ongoing challenges in revenue administration.

The minister was informed that the FBR had successfully achieved the cumulative revenue collection target for the first eight months of the current financial year, with a commitment to achieving the overall annual target.
