Thirty students from Swat stranded in Ukraine

At least 30 students from Swat have been stranded as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Students have stated that they were being called by the Pakistani Embassy to remote areas, but there was no transport facility.

More than 30 medical students from Swat have been stranded in Ukraine since the Russian invasion of Ukraine and their lives are in danger.

Two affected students, Syed Zubair Ali Shah and Ahmad Ali, while talking to Minute Mirror, said, “We are medical students here [in Ukraine], and we are trapped here due to fighting.”

They said they had no transport facility where they currently were, adding that there was no provision of food. “We are instructed by the embassy to travel to remote areas, but we cannot reach those cities due to lack of transportation and money,” they added.

They said that countries around Ukraine opened their borders to refugees, but their access to these states was not possible at the moment. They called on the Pakistani government to take steps to ensure their safe evacuation.
