PM Khan says letting Nawaz exit country govt’s ‘biggest mistake’

Premier launches PR campaign to counter opposition efforts to bring a no-confidence motion

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that allowing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif to leave the country was a “major mistake” made by the current government.

The premier has initiated his PR campaign today in order to counter efforts by the opposition to bring a no-trust motion in the parliament. PM Khan held the first public rally in this regard in Mandi Bahauddin.

The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) party announced a massive campaign to muster the party at a grassroots level. The move comes after the opposition initiated contact with the government’s allies in order to gain support for a no-trust motion.

The PM lashed out against the opposition parties, in particular PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), assailing them for “looting the country’s wealth and stashing their money abroad”.

He asked why the opposition parties were in so much of a hurry to table a no-confidence motion against him. He took a jibe at PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, saying that he had a week and would have nowhere to run if his case was heard. The premier asked, why Shehbaz was running away if he was innocent.

He concluded saying he did not have any personal enmity with the opposition adding he was only fighting them for the good of the country.
