After massacre of 34,000 Palestinians, Malala speaks up

Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, who is called Westen Agent by a section of public in Pakistan (for right or wrong reasons), has at last sopekn in favour of the people of Gaza where Israel has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians in the last seven months. She kep mum facting backlash regarding her silence on Israeli genocide of Palestine, and even went ahead with collaboration with strong Israel supporter and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on a Broadway musical.

This drew condemnation worldwide.

Now, in an Instagram post shared on Wednesday night, Yousafzai clarified her stance, stating, “I want to make it clear today that I stand with the people of Gaza.” She expressed deep concern over the ongoing suffering of Palestinians and condemned the atrocities they endure, emphasizing the urgency of a ceasefire.

Yousafzai affirmed her commitment to denounce the Israeli government’s violations of international law and war crimes, while advocating for humanitarian aid and calling on world leaders to act. She also condemned violence against innocent civilians and expressed solidarity with the voices in Gaza.

Regarding her involvement in the Broadway musical “Suffs,” Yousafzai’s statement followed criticism labeling her a sellout, particularly due to her partnership with Clinton. Clinton’s past stances on Gaza, including opposing a complete ceasefire and defending Israel, have drawn criticism, as has her involvement in drone attacks during her tenure.

The world expects better from Malala and it is hoped she would continue supporting Palestinian and condemn Israeli war on Gaza.
