Arif Habib calls on PM Shehbaz to extend gesture of reconciliation to detained Imran Khan

Esteemed industrialist Arif Habib, on Wednesday, urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to pursue reconciliation with neighboring nations, particularly India, and to contemplate extending gestures of goodwill to those currently incarcerated, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan.

Speaking at a prestigious conference attended by prominent figures from the business sector, Arif Habib commended Pakistan’s recent economic advancements, highlighting a noticeable improvement in the nation’s economic landscape in recent months.

Directly addressing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Arif Habib identified high-interest rates as a significant concern for both the government and businesses alike.

He stressed that a prompt reduction in interest rates would not only stimulate economic activity but also foster a more positive sentiment, thereby strengthening Pakistan’s economic trajectory.

Moreover, Habib emphasized the importance of enhancing relations with neighboring countries, particularly India, echoing sentiments for dialogue expressed earlier during the conference.

He urged the Prime Minister to mend the country’s relationships with its neighbors, including India, and even suggested being open to discussions with “those detained in Adiala Jail.”

Emphasizing unity and collaboration, he encouraged businessmen to transcend provincial boundaries and collaborate effectively, especially as Pakistan prepares to host a significant delegation of Saudi investors.
