Azma Bokhari offers clarification on her comments about Maryam’s outfits

During a recent segment on a private news channel, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari provided further clarity on her previous remarks regarding Maryam Nawaz’s fashion choices. Bokhari emphasized that she did not explicitly state that Maryam Nawaz does not wear branded clothing, but rather highlighted the Chief Minister’s preference for simpler attire in recent times.

Bokhari acknowledged the lifestyle transformations observed in Maryam Nawaz after assuming the role of Chief Minister, noting that she has opted for more modest clothing options compared to her previous wardrobe, even from before the elections.

The Information Minister made it clear that Maryam Nawaz’s fashion choices are entirely her own prerogative, stating that she does not require validation or approval from anyone regarding her clothing selections.

In a bid to elaborate on her comments, Bokhari reflected on a previous statement made during an Eid show, where she humorously remarked that at times she feels her own outfits may be more extravagant than those worn by Maryam Nawaz. However, Bokhari swiftly redirected the focus towards acknowledging the Chief Minister’s performance and leadership qualities in Punjab.

While addressing Maryam Nawaz’s distinctive style, Bokhari commended her fashion sense, noting that the Chief Minister often engages in online shopping and occasionally dons attire from lesser-known brands.

Bokhari stated that the essence of style lies not in the price or branding of clothing items, but in how one carries themselves while wearing them. She further expressed admiration for Maryam Nawaz’s sartorial choices, highlighting her ability to exude elegance and grace irrespective of the cost or origin of her outfits. Bokhari also shared that she personally draws inspiration from Maryam Nawaz’s fashion sense, applauding her for her tasteful selections and unique style.
