Babar Azam, Pakistan captain, vows preparation for T20 World Cup with vigor

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s white-ball captain, promised on Wednesday to get ready for the upcoming ICC World T20 Cup with energy.

In Rawalpindi, before the home series against New Zealand, Azam spoke to reporters. He said, “We’re going to prepare vigorously since we have 12 matches before the World Cup.”

“We’ll try to improve from our past errors. Each match will have a new strategy,” he added.

Azam talked about the opening batsmen for the series ahead. He said, “Wait till tomorrow to find out who will open for the team.”

He said the team plans to have a different strategy for bowling.

“Our main goal is to get the team ready for the World Cup,” he said.

Azam mentioned his role in the team. He said, “I enjoy every role I play in the team.”

He mentioned the strong batting lineup with Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim batting up to number 8.

“I expect everyone, including myself, to perform,” he said.

Azam praised the performances of Iftikhar Ahmed, Irfan Niazi, and Azam Khan.

He stressed the importance of effort from every player. “Every player needs to work hard,” he said.

“Everyone makes mistakes, including me. But I always try to learn from them,” he said.

Pakistan and New Zealand will play the first match of the five-match T20I series on April 18.
