The video posted by Babar almost gained one million impressions on Twitter.

LPL team Colombo Strikers signed Babar to participate in this year’s tournament on Tuesday. Babar was among the direct signings for the LPLahead of the auction on June 11.

The fourth LPL season will be played from July 31 through August 22. Three locations—likely Hambantota, Colombo, and Kandy—will host the five-team competition.

Babar, one of Pakistan’s most successful captains, will continue to captain the team through the October 2023 World Cup, which will be played by India.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi, Chief Selector Haroon Rashid, and Director Coaching Mickey Arthur have unanimously decided to trust Babar as the team’s captain through the 2023 World Cup, according to reports.

Along with serving as the team’s captain during the WorldCup, he will also represent the group in all competitions and series building up to the major event.

These include the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, and the Asia Cup that Pakistan will host in September.
