Bail hearing for Pervaiz Elahi set for May 2nd

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has officially scheduled the hearing for former Chief Minister of Punjab, Pervaiz Elahi’s bail plea in an ongoing anti-corruption case, marking May 2nd as the pivotal date for this legal deliberation.

In this upcoming session, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry will preside over the proceedings, carefully considering the arguments and evidence presented regarding Pervaiz Elahi’s petition for bail.

The petition acknowledge the contention that the decision of the anti-corruption court to dismiss the plea for post-arrest bail is fundamentally flawed, citing discrepancies in the presented facts. Specifically, it highlights the necessity for bail in light of the allegations related to recruitments within the Punjab assembly.

It’s essential to note that this development follows a previous decision by the court to revoke Pervaiz Elahi’s bail plea on March 27th, adding a layer of significance to the forthcoming hearing.
