Most drivers are unaware of a simple and easy trick that helps cool the car much faster. This trick involves a feature on your dashboard, one you might usually ignore.

Yes, your car’s dashboard has multiple symbols, each with its own meaning. Everyone can identify the AC button but not everyone knows about the air circulation button. This button usually shows a small car icon with a circular arrow around it.

Many people don’t know what it does but pressing it stops the car from drawing in hot outside air and instead recirculates the already cooled air inside the cabin. Simply put, this button circulates the interior air rather than pulling in hot external air.

It’s especially useful when the AC is running. Using the air recirculation feature allows the AC system to cool the already-cooled internal air rather than cooling the constantly incoming hot air from outside.

This not only helps cool the car faster but also reduces the workload on the AC meaning less energy or fuel is consumed. So, the button helps in cooling the car, keeping it clean and saving fuel.

However, timing is important when using this button. Do not press it right after getting into the car and turning on the AC. Doing so would cause the hot internal air to circulate.

Instead, lower the windows and drive for a short distance to let the heat escape. Then, close the windows, turn on the AC and activate the air circulation button.
