Maryam Nawaz: Democracy is key to Pakistan’s progress and people’s well-being

Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, stressed the importance of democracy to Pakistan’s growth, advancement, and general well-being. She honored the democratic leaders who gave their lives to defend democratic principles, such as Nawaz Sharif, on International Democracy Day.

Maryam Nawaz stated that only a strong democracy can bring about true political and economic stability, pointing out that the PML-N has directed Pakistan’s progress through democratic values. She defined democracy as a concept of public empowerment and service as well as a type of governance.

She claimed that democracy enables people to select their representatives, resulting in the growth and prosperity of the country. Maryam Nawaz said that social justice and the general welfare depend on democracy.

The purpose of today’s worldwide observance of the International Day of Democracy is to advance democracy and increase public understanding of the value of robust democratic institutions. The theme for this year is artificial intelligence’s potential to improve good governance.
