LAHORE: Secretary and Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta has said that ongoing development, renovation and beautification projects at Data Darbar are being carried out while preserving the shrine’s historic and spiritual character and ensuring maximum convenience and safety for devotees.
He made the remarks during a detailed inspection of the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA) on the special directives of Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar. General Manager NESPAK Adil Nazir, XEN Communication and Works Fahad Naveed, Administrator Data Darbar Muhammad Ali Khan, XEN Data Darbar Qaiser Munir and other senior officials accompanied him during the visit.
Dr Bhutta paid his respects at the shrine, offered Fateha and prayed for the peace, security, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and its people.
He said Data Darbar has for centuries represented a message of love, peace, spirituality and humanity and remains a source of spiritual comfort for millions of devotees.
During the inspection, the Auqaf secretary reviewed various sections of the shrine and examined the progress of ongoing construction, development and beautification works. He said Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar had recently reviewed the projects during his visit and directed the relevant departments to complete their assigned works within the prescribed timelines.
Dr Bhutta said several projects were progressing rapidly, including the installation of decorative calligraphic marble work in the Ghulam Gardish. He acknowledged that some entrances and facilities had temporarily been restricted because of construction activities but said departments were taking measures to facilitate the movement and comfort of visitors.
He directed the concerned departments to further accelerate development work through close coordination and ensure that devotees are provided with maximum possible facilities during the construction phase.
The secretary emphasised that the ultimate objective was to create a secure, peaceful and aesthetically appealing environment befitting the historic importance and spiritual sanctity of Data Darbar.
He also instructed officials to maintain close oversight of the projects and ensure that all works were completed within the stipulated timelines without compromising the quality of construction or the convenience of visitors.
