Defense Minister Khawaja Asif affirms progress on Pak-Iran gas pipeline project and stresses regional stability

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has expressed optimism about significant transformations in Pakistan within a year, highlighting the nearing completion stages of the Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline project and the imminent unveiling of its routes.

In a conversation with a private TV channel, PML-N leader Khawaja Asif underscored the significance of Iranian President’s recent visit to Pakistan, emphasizing the enduring historical ties between the two nations.

Despite security concerns preventing a large-scale gathering during the visit, Asif hailed it as a pivotal development in bilateral relations. He reiterated the commitment of Pakistan and Iran to jointly combat terrorism, recognizing it as a shared challenge that necessitates collective action.

Asif further addressed regional insecurities exacerbated by external influences, advocating for unity among nations to safeguard mutual interests. Standing by his past remarks, Asif affirmed his stance on the Taliban’s victory in Kabul, viewing it as the triumph of oppression.
