DPS wins U-16 Central Punjab Schools Cricket Championship

The Divisional Public School (DPS) team won the divisional level final of the Under-16 Central Punjab Schools Cricket Championship and qualified for the next level tournament.

The final match was played at Bohranwali ground between DPS and Government Islamia High School Jaranawala and DPS won easily with 193 runs. Shahban Ahmad was declared the best Player of the tournament. Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Shahid Niaz and Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid were chief guests and distributed winner and runner-up trophies among captains of both sides.

AC City Waqas Haideri, CEO Education Iftikhar Khan, Educationist Mohammad Akhtar Butt, Incharge Control Room Mohammad Sadiq, Ex. International player Shahid Nazeer, Principal DPS Shahid Mehmood and players & officials were also present.

Divisional Commissioner appreciated the best organization of the event under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad and said that it was a successful championship at the school level. He felt happy to see the students in the field and showing their dedication.

He said that new talent has emerged from such competitions. He congratulated the winning team and appreciated the performance of the runner-up team which reached the final level. Deputy Commissioner lauded the excellent sportsmanship of the team and said that win and loss is a part of the game and the real winner is the sportsman’s spirit. He expressed that the district administration would provide the best sports facilities to the students.
