Dr. Makhdoom Syed Hussain Shaheryar Bukhari is a Pakistani medical professional, public health practitioner, entrepreneur and youth leader whose work has extended beyond medicine into student leadership, community engagement and public service.

Bukhari completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the International Medical University (IMU) in Kyrgyzstan. During his time at the university, he became actively involved in student affairs and took on several leadership responsibilities. Alongside his medical education, he developed an interest in public health and later pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH), focusing on areas including leadership, health law and healthcare policy.

His academic background has therefore provided him with exposure to both clinical medicine and broader public health issues. His interests have also led him towards activities involving youth development, student representation and community service.

At IMU, Bukhari held a number of positions within the student leadership structure. In 2022, he became associated with the university’s Student Senate and served as head of its public relations department. The position involved communication and engagement with students and participation in activities related to student affairs.

His involvement in university leadership continued to grow. In 2023, he was appointed vice president of the student body, taking on greater responsibility for representing students and supporting their concerns within the university community. In February 2025, IMU announced that Bukhari had been elected president of the Student Senate for the 2024–2025 academic year.

During his tenure in student leadership, Bukhari focused on representing student interests and encouraging communication and cooperation among members of the university community. His activities included engaging with students, addressing student-related concerns and participating in initiatives organised through the student senate.

Beyond university life, Bukhari has also participated in youth and public-service activities. He has served as president of South Punjab for the National Youth Parliament Pakistan, a role associated with youth engagement and leadership. He has also represented Pakistan as a goodwill ambassador at the Pakistan Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, where his activities have included public representation and community engagement.

In addition to his medical and public-service interests, Bukhari has developed an interest in entrepreneurship and business. He has pursued business-related activities alongside his education and professional commitments. Bukhari was born on April 8, 2002, in Pakistan. He has connections to Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab and has spent significant periods in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Islamabad. His father, Syed Baqir Hussain Bukhari, is an advocate, while his brother is Syed Ali Daniyal Bukhari.

At a relatively young age, Bukhari has built experience across several fields, including medicine, public health, student leadership, youth engagement and entrepreneurship.
