Fawad Chaudhry’s plea referred to bench by Court

In the latest developments at the Lahore High Court, Chief Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan has taken action on the plea submitted by former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, seeking an extension of his security bail. The proceedings unfolded as Chaudhry, accompanied by his wife Hiba Fawad, appeared before the court to present his case.

The plea brought to the court’s attention the previous grant of security bail in 36 cases concerning Chaudhry. In response, the court has issued a directive to prolong the interim bail across all these cases.

Chief Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan has decided to refer the matter to a two-member bench for further deliberation. This bench, led by Justice Aaliyah Neelam, will now take charge of the proceedings. Furthermore, the court has informed Fawad Chaudhry that he may approach the designated two-member bench for further discussion on the matter, with the opportunity to do so today, which is Wednesday.
