Federal government to establish inquiry commission on judges’ letter issue

The federal government has taken a significant step by announcing the formation of an inquiry commission to address the issue raised by six judges of the Islamabad High Court.

Led by a neutral retired judge, this commission aims to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure impartiality in its proceedings.

Federal Minister for Law, Azam Nazir Tarar, emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and the freedom of the judiciary during a press conference on Thursday.

He reiterated that there would be no institutional interference and assured that the government is fully aware of its responsibilities in this regard.

Tarar highlighted the importance of adhering to constitutional principles and stressed that the commission would operate within the framework of the law.

The commission’s mandate will include a comprehensive examination of the letter to ascertain whether any misconduct occurred.
